Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania and is now an actor from Romania and Germany. Her most well-known movies include Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her showbiz career early. She was a lead actress in television dramas as early at the age of 16. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like that of the secretary of Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge in the critically and commercially successful Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex and The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films starring this stunning diva. Alexandra is known for her work in numerous noteworthy projects both domestically and internationally. Some of these include the British biographical film Control, Greek drama movie The Dust of Time, as well as the French historic miniseries Napoleon. She was also an active member of the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
