Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). When she was five, she moved from London to Oxfordshire to attend the Dragon School. Emma always had the desire to become a professional actor since she was at the age of six. She studied at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting institute that offers part-time classes. At the age of 10, she had performed and taken part in many Stagecoach productions and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) was the movie version of J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was filmed for very first time back in the year 1999. Emma was found by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. After eight consistent auditions the producer David Heyman told Emma and co-applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast to play the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. The film's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. It was the year's top grossing film, breaking records at the opening and first weekend. The critics were impressed by the movie and its performances. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British newspaper, called Emma's acting "amazing".
